Yesterday the opposition parties rocked parliament on Pegasus spying issue. We need to understand some of the facts.
1. Every sovereign country has some surveillance
system or other. They will use it for internal and external security of their
country. Nana Patole recently said that his own govt is monitoring his
movement.
2. Pegasus is ethical spyware and designated as weapon
system. Its sale is controlled by Israeli government. It is not very clear whether
Government of India has bought it or not.
3. Let's assume India has it. India’s responsible
investigation agency must be owning it. It is impossible to know that on whom
government is using it. Even Israeli government and Pegasus will not share this
information. Therefore, I can’t believe Amnesty international and wire can have
such information.
4.
Understand who is sharing this information. Amnesty International who has been expelled
from India for antinational activities. The wire is known leftist propaganda
website. Most of the other actors of
this leak are those people who have played active role in destabilizing Syria,
Libya, Egypt, Yemen etc.
5.
They very well know that the names shared by
them can’t be validated. They also know that Government of India will not say Yes
or No on those names.
6.
What opposition parties want is to share classified
information which no govt will share. They are colluding with breaking India
forces and creating this drama.
7.
My strong belief is that nothing is private
nowadays in cyberspace. We don't know so many spyware may be sitting on our own
mobile. We don't know who is observing us. They can be state actors or rogue
elements. When you install any mobile apps, most of the apps asks complete
access to your mobile including photos, contacts, SMS, location, and email. Many
of us will give complete access blindly.
